It’s never too early or too late. Starting a sleep program is the best way to teach your child healthy sleep habits and avoid sleep-related problems in the future.

A professional sleep consultant has the experience and training to recognize which problems result in specific symptoms, and can work with you to develop a personalized plan for your child that addresses those individual issues. They can also provide some much needed support when things don’t seem to be working, and give you the encouragement you need to follow through on that plan until it starts to work. For more information about this topic, read my blog Why should I hire a sleep consultant?

No. Sleep training brings long term gains not only for your child but also for the whole family. Latest researches has proved that sleep training does not cause any negative effects on children’s emotional, behavioural health nor parent-child attachment.

Crying is your child’s way of protesting change, and you can expect that making changes to their sleep habits will result in some protest. That’s why I’m always sure to tell parents that my program will most likely involve at least some amount of protest on the child’s part.

Please understand that I will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone, nor will I ask you to ignore their cries. The reason that the Sleep Sense™ Method is so effective is that it lets you develop a plan that you feel comfortable with, based on what you know about your child.

Are sleep training and breastfeeding mutually exclusive? I think the answer to that is a definite no. Breastfeeding is an absolutely wonderful experience for both mother and baby, and I support it 100%. Having a baby who sleeps through the night is maybe not quite as magical, but it sure comes close, and there’s absolutely no reason why you can’t have both together.

What I ask from parents is for the time that we work together, that there will be no interruptions. Consistency is the key. It’s really important for your child to get the time to adjust to the new sleep plan. Just let me know when you go on vacation. We can schedule our appointment for when you are back and ready to start.

You don’t have to live in Dubai to work with me. We live in a digital age so the support is also available via Skype, Messenger, FaceTime etc. We can of course also just call via one of these services. Contact me and we will find the most effective way for us to communicate.
